Little Wonders Early Learning Center is a play and learns space that spreads the joy of growing up in Charlottetown and surrounding area.
Our learning center has been enabling children to successfully transition to attend school and adapt to its learning modules.
Observation
Observation is the process of tracking children in developmentally appropriate domains over time. Through these observations, we can notice patterns and assess how each child is developing. Additionally, they guide our programming and help us make adjustments to our environment to facilitate learning.
Assessment and Documentation
Assessment and documentation provide educators, and parents with critical information by creating a record of growth in all developmental areas: cognitive (literacy and numeracy), physical/motor, language, social-emotional, and approaches to learning. Through our assessments and observations, we can track each child’s strengths and weaknesses in order to provide necessary support.
Portfolios
One of the most effective tools for presenting the children’s learning and development is through the construction of a portfolio for each child in our program. They are an authentic record of assessments and evaluation of the children’s learning. They are a purposeful collection that provides a continuous record of each child’s progress compiled over an extended period of time.
